			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>With so much pressure on appearance, it has become very fashionable in the weight loss world especially with celebrities to dabble in extreme and dangerous weight loss diets, food and calorie restriction when taken too far can be and is fatal. There is no real short cut to weight loss; it takes willpower, a bit of effort and a lot of dedication. But these fad diets supposedly offer very quick weight loss but at what cost?</strong></p>
<h2>A few examples of popular celebrity diets include:</h2>
<p><strong>The Maple Syrup Diet (The Master Cleanse Diet)</strong></p>
<p>Beyonce Knowles famously went on the Maple Syrup diet to lose weight for a film role, she ate no food just drank a beverage that consisted of maple syrup, lemons and cayenne pepper for 10 days and lost an incredible 20 pounds in two weeks. This is highly dangerous and crash dieting in this way which more than likely tricks your body into storing fat instead of burning it so the pounds will almost certainly pile back on as quickly as they fell off.</p>
<h3>Raw Food Diet</h3>
<p>This involves basically eating all raw food, even meat which is very risky indeed. Although some nutrients in food are destroyed by cooking, eating entirely raw food can cause kidney, liver problems, nausea and even eye infections. Demi Moore is reported to be a fan of this diet. But some components of fruits and vegetables are actually better absorbed by the body if cooked. Though you may lose weight in this way, the health implications of following this diet are not worth it.</p>
<h4>Cabbage Soup Diet</h4>
<p>The Cabbage Soup Diet basically means substituting all your meals for Cabbage Soup for a week and a dramatic weight loss is promised. Sarah Michelle Gellar is said to go on this diet from time to time. Side effects of this diet are slightly embarrassing, flatulence and the need to go to the toilet more frequently. You will lose weight but it will be mainly water and the second you stop the diet, the weight will pile back on again and probably a bit extra too.</p>
<h5>The Macrobiotic Diet</h5>
<p>Madonna swears by this diet which means eating mostly wholegrains, raw and cooked vegetables and miso soup which sounds quite healthy, but it is extremely limiting with such a lack of iron, calcium and protein it will leave you feeling lethargic, run down and could increase your chance of suffering from anaemia.</p>
<p>As you can see these celebrity diets do work, you will lose weight but by restricting your body of all the important vitamins and minerals you need for your body to function properly, your body will start to believe it is starving and will not only store the fat which will result in gaining weight but the health implications can sometimes be irreversible. <p>In his third book, The Five Factor Diet, the Canadian-born trainer and nutritionist explains how Americans can lose weight by adopting the healthy-eating habits of the world’s 10 healthiest countries. In a recent interview with That’sFit, Pasternak shared the basic nutrition guidelines of his <a title="Celebrity Diets" href="http://celebrity-weight-loss.info/category/celebrity-diets">Celebrity diet</a>:</p>
<p>1. Stick to these eating habits for at least 5 weeks. You need to allow this way of eating to become second nature so you can make the healthy-eating change a life change.<br />
2. Avoid cravings and unhealthy binges by eating 5 small meals per day – 200 to 400 calories per meal.<br />
3. Only use 5 or less ingredients when cooking or preparing a meal.<br />
4. Some basic preparation of meals beforehand make them healthier. If you need to make lunch at work for instance, bring along a bag of healthy goodies you can quickly whip together.<br />
5. You’re allowed 5 cheat foods per week – yes, you can have pizza and even ice cream!</p>

<li><strong>Egglesfield does weight training three times a week, focusing on his chest, shoulders and abdominals one day, and back, legs and biceps the next. On the third day he does a full-body workout.</strong></li>
<li>If you’ve been working out alone for a while, hire a personal trainer to show you something new. They will also push you a little farther than you would push yourself, preventing you from getting too comfortable with your workout.</li>
<li>Keep a picture of someone who you think has the perfect body, and look at it from time to time. It’ll motivate you during workouts, and it’s also good to have a goal to work towards. Just make sure that goal is realistic.</li>
<li>Eat “lighter foods” like salads. But don’t become too obsessed with counting calories.</li>
<li>Drink a glass of water before you eat anything – it’ll help make your stomach feel full. And then only eat until you <em>start</em> to feel full.</li>
<li>Begin your meal with smaller portions. If you’re still hungry, only then eat a little more.</li>
<li>When you’re eating out at a restaurant, tell the waiter to only bring half of your order to the table and to wrap the other half as a take-away. It’ll prevent you from eating everything on your plate. You can have the other half the next day.</li>
<li>Don’t eat two to three hours before you fall asleep and never after 8pm.</li>

<p><strong>Lauren Conrad is on the cover of the September issue of Self magazine.  Inside, she gives great tips on dressing right and working out.</strong></p>
<p>Amusingly enough she mentioned that she’s getting soft around the middle because she has been dating someone lately.  By the looks of the photo above there is nothing ’soft’ visible to the human eye but she sees things differently.  She said,</p>
<p>“I call it the ‘boyfriend layer’,” she tells the magazine. “We were having more romantic dinners out, and I was exercising less.”</p>
<p>Likewise, Lauren took action by getting her boyfriend Kyle active and she will often times ask if he wants to go <a href="http://celebrity-weight-loss.info/tag/celebrity-workouts">workout</a>, claiming that it’s better than going alone.  In addition the couple spends time doing lots of outdoor activities.  She said,</p>
<p>“We like doing outdoor stuff: tennis, bike riding, kayaking, stand-up surfing, hiking in the canyons around L.A..”</p>
<p>As for Lauren’s tips on dressing she suggested to look for silhouettes that highlight your best features.  Currently, she is designing a fashion line for Kohl’s that will be flattering and good for every body shape.  Her line will be out in October.</p>

<p>A source revealed,</p>
<p>“When Britney is on Sunfare, she consumes approximately 1,100 to 1,200 calories per day.”</p>
<p>Apart from her <a href="http://celebrity-weight-loss.info/proactol">diet plan</a> she is still dependent on dance as her exercise outlet and a longtime friend said that she’ll dance at least two hours a day and then some days rehearsals can last up to eight hours.    Eight hours is one mighty workout!  But keep in mind this is just this week’s story, we’ll have to wait and see how long it takes for another tabloid to decide that she has gained weight.</p>

In February 2008 she dropped 50 pounds after giving birth to her twins and she has kept the weight off and still looks like ‘Jenny from the Block.’</strong> Her trainer Gunnar Peterson gave In Touch Magazine the exclusive on what Jennifer does to stay in shape.  He began by saying that she’s a hard worker and no matter how busy she is, she’ll always find time to squeeze in a workout.  He said,</p>
<p>“She isn’t afraid to push herself in the gym.  She’s not somebody who blows it off because she’s working 18-hour days on the set. She finds a way to get back in, even if it means exercising really late at night.”</p>
<p>Peterson told the magazine that she will work out for at least an hour two to six days a week.  She will do a 10-minute warm-up and then a series of high-intensity cardio paired with strength and resistance moves.  Jennifer has said in the past,</p>
<p>“I do weights and cardio, but I try to take a soft, feminine approach.”</p>
<p>Peterson also revealed that the songstress/actress uses the meal delivery service, Freshology, and sticks to 1,200 to 1,400 calories a day.  And like all good celebrities she is sure to eat lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, good fats and lowglycemic carbs.</p>

Once I start one, I can&#8217;t quit; I&#8217;m too competitive. I try to get to the gym early, ride the bike for an hour, push to that 400-calorie burn, and then do a class.</p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">What&#8217;s your biggest guilty pleasure?</span> </strong></strong></span><br />
Junk food. I&#8217;m a big chocolate fan. Lindor, the little balls &#8211; don&#8217;t give me a bag of those, they&#8217;ll be gone. They&#8217;re so creamy and good. I don&#8217;t know how they stay melty like that, even if you put them in the fridge. I like all chocolate, though.</p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">How do you de-stress? </span> </strong></strong></span><br />
I take a &#8220;steam shower&#8221; &#8211; I have a steamer in my house and I just sit in there for a long time and suffocate myself with steam. Detox, melt away all my problems.</p>

<p>Q: You look amazing. How are you feeling?<br />
A: Amazing! I feel kind of guilty because I haven’t had much sickness or anything at all.  A couple weeks ago I had to lie in bed for a half-hour because I ate too much pizza and felt kind of queasy, but I can’t really blame the pregnancy for that. It should be a time you can enjoy, so I’m glad I have been able to.</p>
<p>Q: Have you had any cravings?<br />
A: I seem to want foods from my childhood: fresh orange juice – and it has to be fresh – eggs, cheese, yogurt. And Irish breakfast, which is sausage, eggs, rashers, mushrooms, black and white pudding, grilled tomatoes and hash browns.</p>
<p>Q: Black and white pudding?<br />
A: It’s a kind of blood pudding. Rashers is bacon.</p>
<p>Q: What about aversions?<br />
A: It’s weird:  I can smell things I never smelled before—the other day I woke up and could smell my neighbor’s toast and laundry. Candles are too intense right now.</p>
<p>Q: How’s your prenatal diet?<br />
A: I normally eat really healthy food, but I find it tougher to eat the foods I usually look forward to, such as fish and vegetables; it’s just taking more of an effort. I’m much more drawn to dairy and meat. I still enjoy fruit and I take a prenatal vitamin.</p>
<p>Q: Are you exercising?<br />
A: I have been trying to get my walks in every day. It’s so much easier in Los Angeles than in Ireland and England, where it’s more likely to rain.</p>
<p>Q: How did it feel to pose for our cover?<br />
A: It felt really special, because it’s not just me posing. The baby and I did this together. It’s a kind of keepsake that we will be able to tell the baby about. I’m hopeless when it comes to taking photos. We took some amazing pictures on our honeymoon and I did something to the camera and they all got deleted. So it’s nice to have this.</p>
<p>Q: What do you like/dislike about being pregnant?<br />
A: Talk to me in two months; I’ll probably be saying “Enough already,” but I like that you can indulge a bit more, and I love sleeping.</p>
