Marisa Miller DietVictoria’s Secret supermodel, Marisa Miller, sports a bikini on the June cover of Shape Magazine, and inside, she shares some of her tips on diet and exercise.  She works hard to stay in shape, she has a home gym, takes spin classes, boxes with a trainer and follows a strict diet.  She also has a fitness health mantra that she lives by:

“Working out is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.”

In the interview Marisa explained the importance of eating before working out in order to have the energy to have high-power workouts.  Before a workout she’ll have oatmeal with banana or a protein shake made with almond or soy milk.  She also likes to eat yogurt with organic fruit and she’ll keep fiber bars handy for when she’s out and about and gets a little hungry.

“I prefer healthy food and try not to bring too many treats into my house. But I don’t believe in depriving myself either,” says Marisa. “When I go to the movies, I have a sugary soda, not a diet one. And if I want a burger, I’ll have a burger. I just make it a point not to eat one five days in a row.”

Marisa is very straight forward about the hard work and dedication involved in order to stay fit.  And it’s nice to hear that these supermodels have to work at it and that Marisa is honest about her sacrifices.

“But a lot of people believe that because I’m curvy – and blonde – I’ve had a boob job or some other kind of plastic surgery, which isn’t true. I’m 100 percent natural, but I have to work hard to stay in shape. There’s no magic pill. Believe me, if there was, I’d know about it.”
